I’ve always had a soft spot for chairs and stools. They’re the quiet multitaskers of a home, never fixed to one role, always ready to adapt.
Some of mine have hosted a friend lingering after dinner, stood in as a side table for my morning coffee, or waited in the hallway to catch a bag or coat. I’ve also seen them tucked beneath a favourite piece of art, placed in a bedroom to hold tomorrow’s clothes, or in a bathroom to offer a seat while putting on lotion. Beside the bed, they can stack books; in the living room, they can fill an empty space that just needs a little life.
