Grimes Foundry

Grimes Foundry is the workshop of maker Thomas Grimes, crafting small-batch brass and bronze hardware with an uncompromising respect for material, method, and time. Rooted in traditional casting, his work is guided by the belief that the most enduring objects sit at the meeting point of art and function—quietly beautiful, and made to be lived with.

more about Grimes Foundry

Working primarily in brass and bronze, Grimes embraces the natural character of each metal—then deepens it through hand-finishing and patina, from lightly aged to richly blackened. Every piece is sand-cast and hand chased, a process that preserves subtle variation and texture rather than sanding it away.

Alongside the core collection, Grimes Foundry takes on bespoke work for period homes and restoration projects—studying original details and recreating forms so new pieces retain the proportion, nuance, and wear that give historic hardware its authority, while meeting the practical demands of contemporary use.
