Gathered Fragments Wall Hanging no3

Handmade in-house from remnants of antique linen used in our pillow collections, this one-of-a-kind wall hanging brings together variations in weave, colour, repair, and age. The linen was woven more than a century ago, and each fragment retains evidence of its earlier life, including softened edges, hand stitching, and occasional grain-sack markings.

At 60 inches long, this larger composition has a more architectural presence than earlier Gathered Fragments works. Layers of undyed linen are assembled intuitively, with narrow red stripes punctuating the neutral field. It is suspended from a 3/8-inch stainless steel rod, selected to support the scale of the piece.

Irregular edges, loose threads, visible seams, and tonal variation are intentional. No two are alike.
