The brand begins in Sudbury, Ontario, where founder Tanya Tessier’s father and grandfather worked in the nickel mines. There, metal was never simply decorative: it came from rock, pressure, labour and time. That understanding shapes every Tessier piece, in its weight, its permanence and a surface that carries the evidence of how it was made.
Each piece is sand cast in solid brass and finished by hand, in brass or nickel-plated brass, and left unlacquered so the surface changes with use. The range spans six collections: Orb, Arc, Contour, Drift, Mare and Field, covering cabinet knobs, pulls, wall hooks and a light switch plate.
Tessier is a family name, from the Old French tissier: weaver. A maker’s name, carried forward into metal.
Why Mararamiro carries the work
Atelier Tessier was founded by Tanya Tessier, who also founded Mararamiro, and Mararamiro is its flagship retailer. We carry the full range because it holds to what we look for in every maker: honest material, a finish that ages with the home, and objects made to be handled every day. What you feel matters.
