Handcrafted in Takashima, Japan by Daikō, this traditional warosoku candle is made from 100% plant-based sumac (haze tree) wax. Each candle is built slowly by hand, layer upon layer, around a washi paper core using methods preserved for over a century.

Unlike paraffin candles, sumac wax produces a tall, steady flame with minimal smoke and a clear, luminous glow. The natural materials and careful construction create a quiet, living light suited to daily ritual, shared meals, and unhurried evenings.
