The Zulu Pot, locally known as Ukhamba, is an inspiring and sophisticated addition to your home that narrates a story of culture and heritage. Crafted by the masterful hands of the Zulu people of South Africa, these pots are truly one-of-a-kind pieces that will tell stories in your home. From clay taken from river banks, each piece is a skillfully designed work of art, burnished and fired in an open fire pit to become a beautiful vessel for any space.
These unique vessels were originally used for various tasks from cooking, storing, or brewing sorghum beer. The designs on the pots, known as amasumpa, would be the signature of the potter along with giving the drinker a better grip on the vessel.
Imperfections are normal due to natural wear after so many years of use. Rejoice in their imperfections knowing each pot tells their own story but more importantly, harnesses its own soulful styling that adds character and depth - creating an inspiring character amongst any space.
